“(Lisa) has been such a tremendous asset to the women of this community, first, as a registered nurse in labor and delivery and then as a certified lactation consultant and childbirth educator.”
Dr. Ralph Armstrong, DO, FACOG
“(Lisa) is extremely focused and self-directed. Lisa is very intelligent and is able to pull together resources to attain her objective. She has a great work ethic, is very creative, and is able to connect with patients.”
G. Torres, RN Director Maternal Child Dept
“I came to (Lisa) with the hopes that she could help me find out why my daughter would not latch on to nurse after being given formula in the hospital while waiting for my milk supply to come in. Lisa spent about an hour with my daughter, husband and I explaining to us in great detail her expertise. Lisa called to check in with questions I may have and gave great words of encouragement that really helped me through my difficult time and help me not to give up. In less than a week of following strict guidelines my daughter picked up nursing and we are still going strong three and a half months later. I would recommend her to anyone who is really wanting to breast feed their child, and in the future if I need advice with any new children we have I will be giving Lisa a call for sure.”
“Simply put, Lisa is the reason I was able, and still am able, to nurse my daughter. I had several nursing issues right off the get go. My daughter had latching issues, which subsequently led to nipple trauma, which led to an infection. Each nursing session would literally bring me to tears of pain and frustration. After approximately three and a half weeks of pain and frustration I was ready to call it quits. Then, as a last resort, I decided to seek out a second opinion. Having saved Lisa’s contact information from class I reached out to her. She returned my call almost immediately and became my saving grace. With her help my daughter’s latching issue was fixed and what was once an almost dreaded activity became a treasured time between my daughter and I. I cannot overstate how amazing Lisa is at what she does, nor can I ever fully express my gratitude for her help.”
"In addition, (Lisa) assisted me and my babies with reviewing proper latching techniques and provided me with important literature to help me through my issues. She was incredibly professional, supportive, and positive, which is exactly what a mommy needs when she is feeling vulnerable and is terribly concerned that she may not be able to continue breastfeeding. I am confident that if it wasn't for Lisa I would not have been able to continue to breastfeed my twins exclusively for 4 months and with supplementation to 10 months of age."
"When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was very excited, but anxious, about breastfeeding. I was worried it would be difficult due to my inverted nipples but Lisa was so helpful and comforting. When I gave birth (my baby) latched on right away, with great surprise, but later strugged to grasp the nipple correctly. Lisa showed me how to start transitioning from nursing on the shield to the bare nipple by using the shield long enough so my nipple would protrude to establish a proper latch. After weeks of this routine my baby finally latched on without the shield. My daughter is currently 13 months old and is still breastfeeding without the assistance of a shield. Without the help from Lisa I would not have had the strength to continue the journey of breastfeeding."
